One of the world’s most renowned female spiritual leaders, internationally acclaimed yogini, Kali Ray, (Kaliji), founder of TriYoga, is spending two days at the ASHA Peace Centre, in the Forest of Dean. She has come to bless the work done at the ASHA Centre, work which includes young peace ambassadors from around the world. Swamini Kaliji will also give free master classes in TriYoga, a complete yoga method that incorporates the full range of timeless, traditional practices. TriYoga, the Art and Science of Yogaflow, incorporates posture, rhythmic deep breathing and mudra (hand gestures) in systematized flowing sequences. With a natural ability to integrate Eastern tradition and Western culture, Kaliji shares these practices and philosophy in a way that has inspired and transformed countless lives. TriYoga is taught in schools, universities, hospitals, clinics, businesses and over 25 TriYoga centers in more than 30 countries.

Kaliji has traveled with five of her disciples to the forest. Kaliji and musician, Mercury Max, will be offering Sanskrit chants and music of Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Swamiji, renowned spiritual teacher and master of nada yoga (yoga of sound).

Many local people have visited for free consultations and blessings and to hear spiritual music for the first time heard in the forest. Her visit coincides with the auspicious time of September 3rd, the birthday of the elephant-headed Hindu God Ganesh, who represents the removal of obstacles, and is the God of education, knowledge and wisdom.

Mrs. Zerbanoo Gifford, founder of the ASHA Centre and author of the book “Confessions of a Serial Womaniser the Secrets of the World’s Inspirational Women”, remarked, “In today’s world women are taking their place in guiding the world in spiritual truths and community understanding.”  Kaliji arrived on the evening of the inauguration of Newnham, Blakneys & Awe’s new Vicar, the Reverend Juliet Stephenson. It is no coincidence that a great soul revered by many around the world has arrived on the evening that another inspirational woman has come among us as a leader of our local community from the Church of England.

Swamini Kaliji commented that more places like the ASHA Peace Centre are needed in the modern world, where people can come and feel the sacredness of nature and learn to respect other traditions and ways of life that lead us to expanded awareness and God.
